Laura Reeves, LICSW-S, PIP, CEAP, SAP
Executive practice manager
Laura Reeves is a native of Mobile, AL. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2004 and a Master of Social Work in 2005. Laura began working at Indian Rivers Behavioral Health in 2005. She served as the Children’s Services Manager until 2022, when Laura was promoted and named the Executive Practice Manager at River Oaks Health. Laura is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with credentials for Private Independent Practice, as well as being an approved Social Work Supervisor.
While at River Oaks, she has earned further credentialing as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). As an SAP, Laura can provide U.S. Department of Transportation assessments and recommendations to ensure our community is safe. Additionally, she serves as the President of the Tuscaloosa Mental Health Alliance.
Sam Franklin, LPC

Sam was born and raised in Louisiana. He obtained his Master of Divinity with Specialization in Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and moved to Tuscaloosa while completing his degree. Sam has over seven years of counseling experience and enjoys working with adults and children. Utilizing a client-centered, goal-oriented approach to therapy and various techniques, he helps clients work toward their personal goals.


Tracy Cardwell
Administrative assistant
Tracy began working with Indian Rivers in 2016 and joined River Oaks in 2022. She enjoys working closely with clients to help them stay informed and engaged with their therapists and appointments, making sure they feel supported throughout their care.
She relocated to the Tuscaloosa area to be closer to family and enjoys being part of the local community.
